This is one of the few books that I can read over and over again. It is a story about searching for meaning and authenticity in a world full of “phonies.” Holden Caufield is a smart but frustrated teenager unable to find joy. Smart and funny, with biting sarcasm and cynicism, Holden is finally able to find happiness in the simple pleasure of watching his kid sister at play. It is a story that grabbed me by my soul when I was 16, and hasn’t let go. I continue to try and grab the brass ring.
